Hello. My name is Ophelia. I’m a super-sweet, very friendly one(ish)-year old Pyr mix.
I’m loving life, but life wasn’t always easy. I was found under an abandoned house with my litter of puppies in the intense Texas heat. When a good Samaritan took us all to get help, we weren’t doing well—I was extremely emaciated and dehydrated, and my pups had a terrible case of mange. One of my baby boys lost his tail, and sadly my baby girl crossed the rainbow bridge before she was six weeks old. After my remaining pups and I were stabilized, we had a couple more trips to the ER, but soon we were able to go to some loving fosters. When I got to my foster family, I didn’t even have the energy to lift my head, but in less than 24 hours I was already playing with my giant foster brothers and having the time of my life (and my pups bounced back quickly and are doing fantastic)! I am totally housebroken, know how to sit and shake hands, have great manners, LOVE people, and enjoy outings where I can get as many hugs as possible from random humans. I’m good with other dogs and I love to play. Stuffies are my favorite, and I am very good at relocating humans’ socks around the house. I’m a dream on a leash; in fact, foster mama brags that I don’t lose pace on our daily 2.5-mile walks, so I’d love my forever home to be with a more active family. I’m also a snuggle bug and enjoy naps and lounging on the couch. Ophelia is currently being fostered in Austin, TX but can be on the next NW transport!
