Hi Everyone. I’m Winny, a five-year-old beautiful queen Pyrenees. Don’t worry though I’m no pretty poodle that takes herself too seriously. I mean really, with that fur style, I have no idea why they are so proud. It’s embarrassing really, but let’s not tell them. It might hurt their feelings. I am also no sissy dog. I may be super mellow, sweet and gentle, but I protect mine, in the nicest way possible of course. But I digress. There’s a story here. I wasn’t always the girl you see today. Until a month or so ago, I grew up with my brother Wally. Things weren’t so great, but Wally and I didn’t realize it at the time. The owner was nice enough to us but didn’t take care of us very well. We had the fleas, the worms and let’s not even start on the state of my long white fur! Let’s just say I didn’t exactly sparkle in the sun like I do now and the smell, well, it certainly wasn’t regal. Turns out my owner couldn’t keep us anymore, so we came to this rescue thing, and I got a foster family. That’s when life started to take one of those crazy turns. In this new life, I have a family taking care of me, making sure I am healthy and bringing out my inner queen. My beauty team, AKA the fosters, made me gorgeous (and took care of the nasties I was carrying around). My foster mom is amazing! I like to follow her everywhere she goes. As sweet as she is, she recently drew the line at the bathroom, said something about boundaries. She lets me cuddle with her on the couch and gives me lots of loves. I LOVE cuddle couch time! If she forgets what she’s supposed to be doing, I use my nose to nudge that hand back to work. I like to make her laugh, which she says I’m good at with what she calls my goofy-goobernes (even queens wanna have fun). The daughter is pretty great too. She lets me sleep with her on the bed, but mums the word on that. Apparently, this is frowned upon by the parentals. I like the dad too. Actually, he’s the big alpha around here. I know this and he knows this, but we don’t speak of it -ever. The fam takes me on walks so I can patrol my Queendom. Sometimes we see other dogs and I make sure they understand who rules this land! The fosters are teaching me to this in my quiet voice. I’m not so sure about this quiet voice, but I’m new to the queen thing so I guess I might need to learn a thing or to about civilized behavior. I like other dogs fine if they acknowledge my benevolent leadership and introduce themselves slowly. I really like meeting new people and going places. So, life is good, but I would really like to find this forever family people talk about. My big bossy pants lug of a brother Wally found his so I’m pretty sure I deserve one too. I’m ready for the rest of my story. Winny is currently being fostered in Portland, OR. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing.
