Meet SADIE! When the Beatles wrote the song “Sexy Sadie,” they must have been thinking about me! I am Sadie—a beautiful, bodacious, 6-year-old female Great Pyrenees. I was once a well-loved family pet living on a Texas farm. When the farm was sold, I was part of the deal. Well…the new farmer soon learned that I am more house pet than working dog. Can you believe that he was about to abandon me on a rural back road when GPPR swooped in for the save?!

I am now living with a foster family in Beaverton, Oregon as I await my forever home.

As for personality, I am as easy as they come. I’m a relaxed girl, living with adults, teenagers, two other Great Pyrs, and three cats. I am sweet, friendly, and have no problems with any of them. The cats sniff me. I sniff them. We’re good. Maybe one day we’ll cuddle? I’m good with kids, subject to the usual caveats (i.e., I am large, kids are small, apply the laws of physics and do the math).

I love, love, love walks outdoors. That said, I am fundamentally an indoor dog. Don’t even THINK about making me guard a chicken coop all night!

I have a 10th degree black belt in snuggling—especially while lying next to (or on top of) my hoomans on the sofa. Yes, I love sofas. Hope that’s not a deal-breaker. I am also a doggie bed aficionado. Fancy beds, not-so-fancy beds…doesn’t matter. I’ll sleep on them all.

#ProTip: Give me belly rubs, and I’m yours forever. I am the queen of Tummy’s Up Tuesday!!

What else? I am a healthy, full figured dog. You’ll need to work with me on the weight thing. I need a family who will feed me a healthy diet and walk me 1.5 miles twice daily. Yes, that’s right. I may be portly, but I easily (and happily) walk 3 miles every day. Keep up this regimen, and I’ll slim down in no time flat. Heck, I’ve already lost 5 lbs since my arrival in Oregon two weeks ago.

So, to quote our President, ‘here’s the deal folks’- I am a low maintenance, sweet dog, but I have reasonable demands. I need a dog bed, lots of cuddles (preferably on your lap), and long walks. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest keyboard and fill out an application at www.greatpyrsandpaws.org to make me your forever girl. I won’t be on the market long because, you know…I am Sexy Sadie.
