Grab your tissue box and get ready to fall in love with this unique girl!

Meet Casey.

A soulmate is a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner. They understand each other and are willing to do life at each other's pace. Casey came into the care of GPPR in September 2020, terrified of the world, somewhat feral, and in rough shape. Humans had failed her even at the young age of 2-3. She was placed into a loving foster home to give her the space and decompress time she needed. We will let her take it from here:

"Although I am still really nervous about things, I am beginning to find my confidence and think with the right people, I will blossom even more. My favorite place in my foster home is the bathtub! I know it sounds odd but it is cool and quiet and I am allowed the space I require. I enjoy going on walks and walk nice on a leash but sometimes I must be reminded that you are trying to put the leash on me and don't want to hurt me. I'm not aggressive just nervous and need some convincing. I am getting better. I now recognize things like cars that are interesting and allow myself to even bark at them a little bit. I think I am beginning to understand how to dog. Slowly.  The wind used to terrify me after all so this is an improvement.

My foster mom has her dad visit and I really like him. He's a quiet, gentle man and can see myself with someone like that. I know I am someone's soul dog and I am ready to begin the hunt. Cautiously."

Have a calm, easy going lifestyle? If you understand that the finer things in life require care and nurturing, than you may be Casey's soulmate. She is very much hoping for nice people to call her own.
