Maya is one of the kindest and most loving dogs that ever walked on planet earth and she does not have separation anxiety whatsoever. She’s well socialized with other dogs, loves to play with other dogs, she’s absolutely perfect with young children, and even cats! She doesn’t know what chasing even means. She loves to follow you around the house to gently poke you with her snout to ask for affection, she loves to bury her nose below your arms and just sit next to your feet, she loves to rest her head on your legs, ask for belly rubs, and to give lots of kisses! She doesn’t drool and (unlike a Great Pyr) she rarely barks even though she’s only 1 years old. This is when dogs are supposed to be crazy! She can be a bit shy when entering a brand new room, a completely new territory or floor she’s never been to but it’s such a perfect reflection of her gentle soul. She doesn’t counter surf, she doesn’t bull doze into a room, she doesn’t really jump up on people, she’s fully crate trained and potty trained. She also allows people to brush her teeth without resistance. She’s also pretty good on the leash and she does not pull a ton. But she likes to stop randomly and smell the grass while you’re walking which is quite normal for a year old dog. Because she’s still a year old, she would benefit from continuous structured walks and training around her pace. If you have plants in the backyard, she does like to dig up dirt in a couple places if she’s left outside for a while. She loves to chew on stuffed animals and a kong filled with cream cheese is one of her favorites. If you’re looking for a dog who loves to play fetch, she’s probably not the best fit. Again, she doesn’t quite know what chasing is! She is incredibly gentle, calm, and cool as a cucumber. She likes to check in with you throughout the day to remind you she loves you and also loves to take a long nap. She knows how to sit and do “down”. She’s extremely low maintenance and couldn’t be more of a perfect dog for a family with young kids. Maya is currently being fostered in Bothell, WA. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing.
